Four generations. Seated, Mary Andrew Hanlon (née Crawford), seated on the arm of the chair Maggie Hanlon (née Jones) her daughter in law, standing behind Maggie is Hugh Austin Hanlon, her husband and son of Mary Andrew Hanlon, beside Hugh Austin is Peggy Swindell (née Hanlon) the daughter of Hugh and Maggie Hanlon and the first of their eleven children, and standing on the other arm of the chair Margaret Swindell, the daughter of Peggy, granddaughter of Hugh and Maggie, and great granddaughter of Mary Andrew Hanlon. The photo was taken at Mary Andrew Hanlon's house the day after the marriage of Alma Hanlon to Bunty Spreag.

Peter Ward at the front right and his brother James front left. Sitting next to James is their grandma Mary Prescott and next to her holding on to Peter is her sister Sarah Bate (nee Prescott). On the left at the back is my Maggie Prescott, in the centre is Alice Bate( who married William Britch) and at the back on the right is my Peter Ward Snr. Peter Ward Jr looks about 7 which would date the photo about 1928 .This means that Frederick Bate (Sarah's husband had been dead about 27 years as he died young at 34. Alice would be about 31, Maggie would be about 37, Mary Prescott would be about 60,Peter Ward Snr would be about 40 and Sarah would be about 68.
