(Witness) Marriage License20 November 1801 John Thompstone witnessed the marriage license of John Thompstone and Olive Rathbone on 20 November 1801; The bond shows that John Thompstone of the parish of Gawsworth, Samuel Hill, Peter Fowles of Macclesfield in the Parish of Prestbury were bound in the sum of £500 on the 20 November 1801 that there was no lawful impediment to the marriage. John appeared in person and made allegation that he was of the age of twenty-one and upwards and a widower and intended to marry Olive Rathbone of the parish of Gawsworth aged twenty-one years and upwards and a spinster. The licence was for the marriage to be solemnized in the Parish Church of Gawsworth.1
