BiographyDuring the late 1940's Roland worked in partnership with a guy called Willy Landaur (?) for a while, but that went phut as a result of Roland wishing to invest takings into the business and Willy did not quite see it like that.4
OccupationRoland Stanley Quartermaine was a Roland ended up working 'for the family' His mother - Louisa Quartermaine - had a factory making garments (Quartermaine & McLaren) and practically every member of the family worked there at some point, in one capacity or another. He was a salesman, taking samples to prospective customers.4
ResidenceHe lived in Crouch End, Middlesex, EnglandG, and resided at Bedford Road. Also present was Lillian Vera Quayle.4
BiographyOctober 1950In October1950 the family moved to Bristol (Mum Dad and Jackie). He had bought a shop and there was a flat above. He continued to sell the family's wares, but also took on agencies of other manufacturers and travelled the South West - from Bournemouth in the East up to Gloucester and down to Cornwall and including the Channel Isles (although that only in later years). The shop was called Lilian Quayle, and sold ladies garments inc. hosiery, corsetry and knitting wool! He employed a lady to work in the shop.4
