IRRIGATION SURVEY HELD IN KAYSVILLE - The New Survey Irrigation Co. is making a new survey. Officials of the company and others are making a house to house canvass to determaine whether residents of Kaysville are interested in having irrigation water piped to their lots.
B.O. Brough, Kaysville, president of the company, said Wednesday that response so far has been excellent. 'I've been to see 60 men, and only two have opposed the idea.' he said.
Some 400 residents would have to raise $300 each to pay the estimated coast of piping the water. Some water would come from the Weber Basin Project, some would be received from the Haights Creek Irrigation Co., Mr. Brough said.
Included in the area to be served, if present plans materialize, is land between 2nd North and the Davis High School and from Main Street to between 7th and 8th East. Part of the residents would receive delivery of water before it was stored in a reservoir. The remainder would draw from the supply.
Residents would have to own a share of stock in the company to qualify. A total of 485 shares of stock are now issued, but another stock issue is planned.

OBITUARY OF BENJAMIN ORLO BROUGH
Kaysville - Benjamin Orlo Brough, 65, of 34 E. 1st N., former city councilman, died Saturday at the South Davis Memorial Hospital of complications following surgery.
Mr. Brough was president of the Haights Creek Irrigation Co. and was owner of the Brough Home Builders Co. which constructed about 200 subdivision homes under his leadership.
He was aborn April 8, 1904, in Randolph, a son of Benjamin Richard and Pearl Muir Brough.
He was married to Doritt Harvey on Nov. 5, 1924, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was president of the Happy Hollow Golf Corp. and had served as councilman for two terms. He was a Republican precinct chairman.
He was a farmer, stockman, poultryman and Davis County dealer for the Draper Feed Co. for 32 years.
He was a High Priest in the Kaysville LDS Stake and had been scoutmaster, MIA assistant superintendent, Sunday School teacher, home teacher, and Seventies Quorum group leader.
Surviving are his widow, the following sons and daughters: Ben Orlo H. Brough, James H. The family of Mrs. Doritt Harvey Brough will honor her with an open house on the occasion of her 80th birthday anniversary.
Friends, neighbors and relatives are invited to call at the Brough residence, 34 East 100 North, Kaysville between the hours of 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5. They request that gifts be omitted.
Mrs. Brough is a lifelong resident of Kaysville. She was born in what is now known as Fruit Heights on Nov. 5, 1898 to James S. and Mary Bosworth Harvey.
The house she was born in was a five room log and rock home built by her pioneer grandfather. The home was surrounded by tall mulberry trees which were grown from seeds brought from France to Utah by President John Taylor, at the time when Utah was trying to promote a silk industry. When she was three years old, her parents moved into their own home which they had built nearby. The house still stands and is located to the east of the present Fruit Heights Chapel. The chapel was built on property that was part of her parents farm.
As a child, Mrs. Brough attended grades one through five in a one room schoolhouse that was located on the Mountain Raod. To attend the sixth grade she rode in a covered wagon pulled by horses that was used to transport students to the Kaysville Elementary School.

KAYSVILLE - Mrs. Doritt Harvey Brough, 80, of 34 East 1st North, died Saturday, April 14, 1979, at her home of natural causes.
Mrs. Brough was aborn Nov 5, 1898, in Kaysville, a daughter of James S. and Mary Bosworth Harvey
She was married to Benjamin Orlo Brough on Nov. 24, 1924, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He died Oct. 18, 1969.
She had been an elementary school teacher in Mink Creek Idaho, and Randolph and Laketown, Utah.
She was an active member of the LDS Kaysville 8th ward and was a Relief Society visiting teacher for over 40 years.
She was one of the first students at Davis High School, and attended the University of Utah.
She lived most of her life in Kaysville.
Surviving are three sons and five daughters, BenOrlo H. Brough, James H. Brough, Grant H. Brough, all of Kaysville; Mrs. C. Edward (Pearl) Goodson, Mrs. Clesse (Rebecca) Hilton, Mrs. Robert (Vilate) McDonald, Evelyn Brough, all of Kaysville; Mrs. Sherrill (Eleanor) Huff, Richmond, Utah; 37 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters, James B. Harvey, Salt Lake City; Ray B. Harvey, Mrs. George (Ruth) Schick, Mrs. Edmond (Mary) Phelps, all of Kaysville.
